Hybrid Workspace, Open Plan, Private Offices, Coworking

Offices & Workspaces

No matter how you work, we’re committed to creating beautiful and functional spaces for your team and your business.

What kind of workspace do you envision for yourself and your team? Formal meeting rooms or casual coworking? Hot desks or assigned seating? Does it have private offices or is it an open plan? How about lounge areas, kitchens, bike rooms, and showers? Does it have enough storage space? (Are you sure?)

Maybe you’ve got it all figured out; or, perhaps you’re thinking, “All of the above!” but know it can’t possibly fit the building or the budget.

The needs of office spaces are evolving with the workforce and the shift to hybrid workspaces. It takes careful consideration to strike the right balance, and there is no one-size-fits-all. When you choose Board & Vellum, you’re choosing a team that will work with you to take careful inventory of what your team actually needs to do amazing work.

We take care to design office spaces that feel special and just right for you. Our individualized approach favors personal touches that keep a workspace from feeling stuffy, while also highlighting the unique qualities setting your business apart.

Whether you’re a budding tech startup moving out of the incubator, an entrepreneur opening a neighborhood coworking space, or a local business owner looking to update your existing office, we’ll tailor your space to suit not only your brand and your style, but your style of working.

We know a workspace is never just a workspace.

We understand the importance of a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable place to work. It’s somewhere you spend a sizable part of your week, and its design directly impacts your health and happiness.

It also plays a key role in the impression a client or customer will have of your company. You’ve worked hard to build a successful business, so we take care to design authentic commercial offices reinforcing your brand identity. When your office or workspace is designed for the functionality, efficiency, and comfort you need to be successful, you’re able to tap into the best parts of your workday.

Whatever your requirements, we’ll collaborate with you to ensure all your needs are met — from spaces to host events to unique employee amenities, to comfortable and productive workspaces. Together, we will design an office that’s the right fit for your business, that your team appreciates, and makes your workday more enjoyable, too.

One-size-fits-all rarely feels just right.

It helps to have architecture, interior design, and landscape design at your fingertips.

Workspaces come in all shapes and sizes, and even challenging spaces are filled with opportunities when you have a diverse team of designers on hand. Our multidisciplinary team offers architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture services in-house so we can approach your design from varied perspectives, without you having to interview and hire multiple firms who may not have ever worked together.

Since we’re constantly working closely across disciplines, you’ll not only save on project management and coordination across teams, but you’ll leverage the creative advantages of an interdisciplinary design team. Each project is different. Some are heavy on the interior design, with a dose of strategic architectural input, and a dash of landscaping for the entry.

Others need the focus of an architecture team to reinvent a space; or maybe a rooftop garden is your dream for a new office amenity. Whatever it is, from the big picture to the tiniest details, from inside to out, we’ll work with you to create an enjoyable and functional workspace.

Attention to the Ceiling Plane

To keep more height in the space, there is no dropped ceiling. Instead, the mechanical infrastructure and concrete slab of the building remain exposed. With every surface painted a deep blue-green, the space feels calm and cohesive from floor to ceiling. Seven Starlings Workloft | Photo by Andrew Giammarco.
