Associate | Architecture
Originally from Idaho, Aaron grew up spending a lot of time in the growing urban environment of Boise. He would go around town taking pictures of the interesting architectural features he could find. During the summers, he would also spend time at his family’s cabin in the mountains; going for walks in the forest, he was impressed with the beauty of nature.
He earned his Master of Architecture at the University of Idaho. There, he learned not just what a building should be, but what it could be. This opened a whole new world for him, asking bigger questions and marrying those answers to his design skills.
After college, he moved out to the one city he was fascinated with growing up — Seattle. During the recession, he found work with Kevin Spence Architect and worked there for over five years integrating the abstract knowledge of the academic world with the practical knowledge of the professional world of residential design. All the while, he remained an advocate for solid design, balancing practicality with the human experience.
When he felt comfortable with his professional skills, he took the next step and was excited to join the vibrant team at Board & Vellum. Here, he enjoys learning from everyone’s diverse strengths and adding to the team.
In his spare time, Aaron enjoys drawings, photography, reading, studying astrology, and traveling to different places in the world.
