D. Troy Howe, AIA, RA, CPHC®
Senior Associate, Architect
Troy is an architect who enthusiastically guides clients, design teams, and contractors through the design process, from concept to construction. With over 20 years of experience, Troy is especially interested in the philosophy of architecture, studying and implementing the principles of genius loci through thoughtfully implemented design solutions authentic to their locations and communities.
Before beginning his career in architecture, Troy honed his passion for the built environment working in custom home construction and at a timber frame company in New Hampshire. He formalized his design education earning bachelor and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Washington. His experience includes custom single-family homes, religious institutions, and civic master planning.
Troy continues to enjoy the fine art and craft of wood joinery building he first discovered as a timber framer. Outside the studio, Troy takes to nature — bicycling, kayaking, running, and taking extended backpacking trips. At home, you’ll find him reading and spending time with his two sons, wife, and Burnese Mountain Dog.
