Associate | Architecture
Born but not raised in California, Danica is a faux New Englander who grew up mainly in Massachusetts. She remembers the day she knew she wanted to become an architect: during one of her childhood trips back to California, when, after seeing a friend’s house for the first time, Danica was enamored by its uniqueness. Her friend explained that her mother was a contractor and that she helped design and build their house. That was all this eight-year-old needed to hear.
Fifteen years later, Danica graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, where she was able to study in Rome and New York City via the architecture program. After graduating, she moved to Seattle to start her career. In the past two years, Danica has interned and worked for firms in the area while gaining experience in civic architecture and custom residential projects.
Coming to Board & Vellum, Danica has switched her focus to single-family residential work as that has always been her childhood dream job. Combining her childlike romanticism of architecture with her rigorous education, she is excited to understand each person’s individual definition of a home and to assist in the design of a space that truly embodies it.
