Introducing, Kristin Jensen!

Help us welcome, Kristin Jensen, our most recent addition to the Interior Design studio at Board & Vellum. A Seattleite through and through, Kristin loves to explore the world through environment, both built and natural. She’s a savvy deckhand, an active hiker, and believes in the power of saying “yes.”

May 5, 2021

Hello and greetings!

From the newest member of the Board & Vellum team, I am beyond happy to be here!

In the foreground and to the left is a set of handlebars from a bicycle. Beach grass stretches out before becoming a rocky, Pacific Northwest beach. Beyond the water, islands emerge from the haze.
Biking By The Water

I’ve seen many great views from this vantage point on Lopez Island.

So, a little about me – I was born and raised in Seattle (3rd gen) and love nothing more than being outdoors, which is kind of ironic since my profession is interior design. Or maybe it’s not, since we all need balance!

Lunchtime walking tour… Don’t forget to look up!

My love of the outdoors is not limited to nature and definitely includes the built environment; some of my best mileage has come from urban hikes! But my passion can surely be traced to my childhood having grown up camping, hiking, and sailing. There is nothing better than riding the earth via tides, waves, and wind. (If you are reading this, have a sailboat, and need a savvy deckhand, look no further!)

On the Open Seas

Proof of my amazing sailing skills, circa 1979.

From backpacking all over the west coast to trekking across Nepal, from biking on the insane terrains that are Seattle roads to sea kayaking on the Sound and many, many, self-guided architectural walking tours in-between, I am most happy when I’m out in the world. It’s where I find inspiration and it’s how I recharge.

PNW Hiking

Somewhere deep in the Cascades. Say yes, ask questions later.

When I can’t get out and travel (I’m looking at you 2020/21) I’ll opt for tourist at home; there are a surprising number of things I haven’t done or seen. Like going to the tulip festival, which I finally did! I recommend going on a day when the clouds are cumulus.

With all of this outdoor recharge, I am so grateful for the opportunity to bring energy to the fantastically talented Interiors Studio. With most of my career being in the multifamily and commercial world, I am excited to extend my expertise in design, technical documentation, and project management.

Will bike for tacos.

I love this career because we all have different experiences and can always learn from each other. In this field of work, you never stop growing and I am excited to grow at Board & Vellum.

Introducing, Michael Lipko!

Help us welcome Michael Lipko, the newest addition to Board & Vellum’s Site Design team. One visit to the Landscape Architecture studio in college and he never looked back! For him, it’s the perfect combination of art, science, nature, and plants. Michael spends his free time with his wife and bunnies and loves to explore the great outdoors.

Introducing, Mira Mui!

Say hello to Mira Mui, joining Board & Vellum’s Multifamily team. The choice to become an architect was pivotal for Mira and led to her love of sustainable design and building reuse. She loves Christmas, renovating the family cabin in Central Washington, and volunteering in her community. She dreams of one day traveling the world with her family.
