Lucas Johnston, AIA
Architecture
Lucas is an architect who believes the best designs are about creating solutions. Thorough and detail-driven, he strives to uncover the core design-driver of each project. From big challenges to small details, Lucas asks the right questions to help his clients expose previously unconsidered goals and values, and, ultimately, make authentic decisions regarding their projects.
With a wide range of experience on a variety of project typologies — from healthcare to residential to commercial — Lucas contributes a diverse perspective to Board & Vellum, where he brings his methodical approach to single-family residential projects.
Lucas earned a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Outside of the studio, Lucas enjoys performing improv comedy, getting outside for hikes, and staying in for game nights. Originally inspired to pursue architecture by working on construction projects with his uncles, Lucas hopes to one day have a home woodworking shop.
