Before this brick home remodel, the house was very cut up, with dark interior spaces cut off from each other by a central, closed off basement stair. But, after a full gut and remodel, which included opening up and relocating the stair, this charming brick home is now full of light, airy spaces, and custom details.
Ada’s Technical Books and Café
Ada’s Technical Books & Café is an adaptive reuse project converting a dilapidated single-story Craftsman home on Capitol Hill into a small, mixed-use retail space. Over 60% of the original structure was salvaged for building reuse, along with all of the existing framing lumber for key fixtures within the space.
Hive 68th & Roosevelt
Opening in Fall 2018, this multi-family development is our first to utilize all three of our integrated studios at once: architecture, interiors, and landscape. Featuring 106 residential units, and ample street-level commercial space, the project offers urban living with quick access to the proposed light rail station.
This modern Mercer Island home maximizes incredible views and westerly light with two separate wings separating the public spaces from the private, and finished with beautiful contemporary materials. One side groups all the sleeping areas, and the other side houses cooking, playing, working and entertaining activities.
Urban Yard at The Seattle Box
Can your small urban yard fit all the features you want? Quite possibly, if you design it well. This yard features outdoor spaces that mirror the functionality of the home’s indoor spaces: a place to relax around the fire, a place to cook, a place to eat, a place to play, and so on, as the indoors and outdoors blend.
This commercial office design project for a boutique real estate firm, Capital Pacific, added a Pacific Northwest touch to a great mid-century commercial building. Original architectural elements like glulam beams and a CMU wall were exposed and refinished to reinforce the existing midcentury character.
