Student Intern: Interior Design

Board & Vellum is looking for an awesome individual to work with us through our paid student internship program. The position is considered temporary while your schooling continues — part-time if needed — but we’ve enjoyed welcoming former student interns to our team after graduation as full-time employees! You will work on a variety of residential, retail, commercial, and multifamily projects, and gain hands-on experience and valuable exposure to a professional design office. The program will range from 3 months to 6 months in duration, depending on the candidate and the needs of the office. Your personality and attitude will be more important than your skillset; however, you should be enrolled in a degree program with a focus on interior design or interior architecture, be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week, and have the qualifications listed below. Paid hourly, $27/hour.

Additional Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a junior/senior in an undergraduate program, or enrolled in a graduate program.
  • Desire to work on all project types and learn about the process.
  • Ability and confidence interacting with our team, clients, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to be involved in every phase of projects, from design through construction.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp – but especially Revit!
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, particularly Outlook and Word.
  • Be a self-starter, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks.
