With architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture teams in-house, we thrive on building integrated teams to design and deliver beautiful, thoughtful projects.

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master in a relevant field, or commensurate working experience in the industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop), and Microsoft Office, along with a general comfort with technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-honed graphic presentation and visual communication skills.
  • Proactive, engaged, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks.
  • Passionate about asking questions and engaging in critique.
  • Dedicated to a practice of constant learning and continuing education.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary, creative environment.

Board & Vellum is a dog-friendly office, and a non-smoking environment. Part of our commitment to the health of our office community includes required COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees. Our office is on Capitol Hill, within walking distance to all the fun stuff you want to do. We run a hybrid office with some required in-office days and some (optional) work-from-home days, though we are open to fully-remote workers when they are non-local.

Marketing Coordinator

Board & Vellum is looking for a creative, motivated, and highly collaborative person to join our team as a Marketing Coordinator. You are task-oriented, enjoy producing tangible work, and find satisfaction in crossing off all the items on your list. Your focus will be on the production of marketing and business development assets for digital and print applications — everything from proposals to portfolio projects, social media content to slide decks, physical collateral to blog posts, evergreen collateral to event swag, and more — all in alignment with our brand guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a balance of skills: able to produce both written and visual content, with an eye for detail. You will be joining our collaborative team, working under the direction of more tenured staff and marketing leadership. Your responsibilities may vary across different project types, delivery scenarios, or as tailored to your particular talents. Positive firm culture is important to us, and our team enjoys our time together, supporting each other to hit our targets, grow professionally, and produce beautiful work representing the company. Though we are located on Capitol Hill in Seattle, we run a hybrid office, and are open to this being a fully-remote role for candidates outside of the Seattle area.

Additional Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a marketing or communications position; bonus points for experience with a design services firm.
  • Familiarity with the architecture, interior design, or landscape architecture industry (or with other design service professions or adjacent industries), and genuine interest in the work of all our teams at B&V.
  • Technologically savvy — no joke. You must be skilled and confident with technology, eagerly and quickly learning unfamiliar applications to become a power user. You’ll spend your day in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Airtable, Outlook, Slack, and other business operations software.
  • Self-sufficient, yet able to take direction and critical feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple projects and tasks, triage shifting priorities, and meet hard deadlines, both expected and unexpected in a fast-paced design firm.
