Adding on to a Walk-Out Basement

Light-Filled Basement Remodel

Adding a little floor space — and lot of light — with a basement addition.

This project consists of a small basement addition and overall basement remodel, plus the remodel of an existing primary bathroom on the second floor. The walk-out basement had surprisingly little light, so we expanded the space under a main floor sun porch and added windows at every opportunity. Packing in functions, like a mudroom and laundry room, with a generous bedroom and combination family and office space allow this basement to live large and reflect the personality of the owners.

Client Review
“…Jeff took every idea we had and made it infinitely better, giving us options we would never have thought of on our own. Jeff brings an ideal mix of creativity, pragmatism, attention to detail, high standards, and fun to his work. He had great respect for not only how we live and work in our home, but for our budget and our time. […] Two other team members at Board & Vellum, Ryan and Matthew, proved to be indispensable when we needed additional help in a pinch. Our basement is an amazing space now, with modern conveniences complemented by just the right details to fit the age of the house. We are now completely sold on the value of design when undertaking any remodeling project.…”
