Nicole McKernan

Associate, Architecture

Nicole believes architecture is an extension of one's life and environment. Always striving to anticipate current and future needs, she takes a holistic approach to design, helping clients balance functionality and aesthetics, and discover what they are truly looking for in a space.

Passionate about historic preservation, Nicole highly regards the unique character of older homes and historic structures. She has extensive experience managing projects in local jurisdictions, and has a special fondness for mid-century and Craftsman homes. Nicole loves incorporating natural light and connections to the outdoors into her projects.

Nicole earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. She also holds a certificate in historic preservation and runs a local historic preservation advocacy group. In her free time, Nicole loves crafting things by hand, creating clothing, shoes, and art with sustainable materials.
