Zack Thomas – Meet a B&V'er – Board & Vellum Team

Zack Thomas, PLA, LEED AP ND

Director, Site Design | Landscape Architect

Zack has always had varied and diverse interests and so his path has been a meandering one. Starting with a Bachelor of German Literature (love of reading and culture), he moved on to a Master of Ecology (fascination with urban ecosystems), then finally finding his passion with a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington (culture + nature!).

During his career, Zack has worked on – and managed – projects of every scope and scale, including private residences, public parks and spaces, custom art pieces, retail and commercial projects, urban infill projects, streetscapes, and a zoo. He’s been involved with a number of high-profile and award-winning projects, including the first certified Living Building project in the state of Washington (and, no, it’s not the Bullitt Center!). But, his true love is working with clients to realize thoughtful, elegant spaces of any scale, big or small. That passion is what brought him to Board & Vellum in the fall of 2016 to help launch the Site Design Studio.

Zack loves living in the city and spending time in Seattle! But he also likes to get away on the weekends – hiking, camping, skiing, and cycling – and traveling to foreign lands at least once a year.
