Abbas Rachaman is a Senior Associate at Board & Vellum, an architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture firm in Seattle, Washington.

Abbas Rachaman

Senior Associate, Interior Design

As a Senior Associate and interior designer, Abbas approaches all projects with a sense of curiosity and a mind for problem-solving. He loves achieving creative solutions to challenging spaces by listening closely to his clients’ wants and needs. Abbas takes a holistic approach to design, considering each house in its entirety, then prioritizing flow, functionality, and comfort to create beautifully finished spaces

Abbas earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Houston (CIDA). He started his career in showrooms focusing on high-end plumbing fixtures, which cemented Abbas’s passion for kitchen and bathroom design. He is a trained Aging-in-Place Specialist and enjoys helping people find long-term wellbeing in their homes.

An active community member, Abbas finds many ways to give back, like volunteering with Sawhorse Revolution to build tiny homes, contributing to Rampathon (a program through the Master Builders Association to build free accessibility ramps for those in need throughout King and Snohomish Counties), and assisting with after school programs to help children with autism express themselves through art.

When he isn’t working or volunteering, Abbas likes to relax by watching a good movie, reading, cooking, and organizing his home. He also loves going to the dog park with his beloved pup, Francis. For a good time, you can find Abbas out and about with friends, enjoying a cocktail and dinner, or taking in the sites while traveling.

Abbas Rachaman is a member of the Board & Vellum ownership group.

A wide interior view of a living room, with focus on a wooden coffee table, an oversized pink accent chair, and an eclectic wood and upholstery sofa. Also includes a blue and white shag rug and cream window drapes. On the right, in the background there is a wooden console table, a red metal lamp, and an abstract painting of a bright orange and turquoise figure. On the left, in the foreground there is a fireplace with a green mantle, white and blue tile surround, and white marble hearth. Above the fireplace, there are wall sconces with bright floral printed shades.
