It’s that time again, time to meet a new B&V’er! This time, say hi to Jackie, our accounting coordinator. Jackie has been a Seattleite since the age of seven, and out of the office, she’s a big fan of hiking, camping, rock climbing, and recently picked up fly fishing, too.

I am Jackie, the accounting coordinator at B&V. I joined the team in July of 2018 and am happy to be here, surrounded by so many talented, creative people and working for such a wonderful company.
I moved to Seattle from Korea when I was seven years old, so I mostly grew up around here. I received my Bachelor’s in International Studies from the University of Washington. I worked random odd jobs and traveled and enjoyed an existence of whimsy and carefree, misguided youthfulness for some time until one mundane, rainy Seattle day found me aging hopelessly without any professional aspirations.
In time and with a series of good fortunes, I found myself at a local firm that specializes in designing and installing commercial audio-visual systems where I worked as a fulltime bookkeeper. I was given the opportunity to learn regular day-to-day accounting procedures, as well as gain the managerial accounting skills required to take care of a small business. I became familiar with the many moving parts involved in large-scale projects and dealing with construction trades. I came to realize that, at last, I was gaining experiences that could lead to a grown-up career.
Just earlier this year, I finished taking courses to meet the education requirements to take the CPA exams here in Washington state. Still, I cannot imagine ever working in an office full of accountants. But here at B&V, I feel that I can challenge myself, work toward my goals, and grow with the company.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies and playing the keyboard. I like to bike around town on sunny days and work on knitting projects on rainy days. I enjoy the outdoors and like to go hiking, camping, and rock climbing. I learned to fly fish this year, and I’m probably going to be doing a lot of that in the future too.
And if you stop by the office, you might be greeted by my sweet dog, Clementine, who works with me a couple of days a week.
